Living in Nashville, Atlanta is one of the cities we’ve been to the most for the past few years. It’s within a few hours’ drive, has tons of options for food (especially Asian) and shopping (aka ZARA, IKEA…), and most importantly, very last-minute-friendly – meaning, you don’t have to worry about breaking the bank even just booking the trip a few days ahead of time.
This past Thanksgiving weekend, Long and I decided to take the road trip again. For the 48 hours, we did some of our “ATL routines” like dim sum, bubble tea, etc., but also had quite a bit of different experience thanks to The Ritz Carlton Atlanta.
The Ritz Carlton was one of the very first luxury hotel brands I’ve ever known. I could still remember, years back when I had the chance to attend a conference at The Ritz Carlton Beijing, how impressed I was by the traditional Victorian interior design and extremely attentive staff. Fast forward to The Ritz Carlton Atlanta, I thought I had enough expectations for the RC décor, but again I was blown away by how beautiful the hotel was. Our room had a nice city view as the hotel was right in the center of Atlanta. Details like the welcoming champagne from the front desk and the Nespresso machine in our room were really spot on.
During our stay, we had the pleasure to enjoy a dinner at AG, which is a modern steakhouse in the hotel. Nothing describes our experience better than the photos. The atmosphere was both upscale and intimate, perfect for any fancier occasions. We had some super fun cocktails and amazing food. A few of the absolute highlights: Smoky Old Fashioned, braised pork belly, bread pudding.
Finally, a quick rundown of things we did and recommend:
Golden House. Solid and surprisingly cheap dim sum options.
Brush Sushi Izakaya. Decent ramen and the green tea brownie was to die for.
Superica. We went for brunch with our friends and had some of the best pancakes ever.
Ponce City Market. It has basically everything and is a super cool photo spot.
H Mart. Awesome for grocery shopping for Asian food.
Boba Bee. Great bubble tea and egg waffles.
White Windmill bakery. If you’re an Asian bakery fan like I am.
Dancing goats coffee. Cool spot for studying and hanging out.
