If you know me IRL, you would know that I’m the kind of person that always keeps up with local happenings – latest restaurants openings, emerging coffee shops, etc., I am usually the one that my friends come to when recommendations as such are needed. The thing is, with the pace that Nashville is growing at the moment, I can barely keep up any more. Now that the end of year is upon us, I’ve found myself running around between events several nights a week, which inspired me to dedicate a blog post to documenting the fun happenings around town.
I’ll start with a book signing (celebrated with bubbles) hosted by Chad James, an award-winning interior designer. The event was held at Francois & Co for the non-profit Holiday House, founded by interior designer and breast cancer survivor Iris Danker to “raise critical funds for the prevention and cure of breast cancer”.
On the same night, I had the chance to visit the long-awaited restaurant, The Halal Guys at One Bellevue Place. Just in case the name doesn’t ring a bell to you, it is a franchise of a New York fast casual restaurant that originated from a food cart. We tried their combo and falafel platters, both were very tasty especially with the signature white sauce. Their baklava was to die for, so don’t miss out when you are there. The storefront is not open yet, but they do offer catering service for orders of more than 5.
Rhapsody Spa at The Westin Nashville hosted a fun night of champagne, Hors d’oeuvres and mini Spa treatments. It is a perfect destination for holiday stress relief. Arcade is a Kid’s clothing and toy shop located in Hillsboro Village – a really cool one if you ask me. We joined their Aunt & Uncle Shopping Party and was amazed by the array of unique findings for children from brands all over the world.
City Tap House Nashville is a downtown gastropub/beer tavern that just opened its door and we had the pleasure to attend their opening celebration the other night. The restaurant is spacious, offering a great vibe, a wide selection of drinks and surprisingly good food. Parking could be a little tricky as it’s right in the center of downtown.
