You probably have noticed that I have been a huge fan of the off-the-shoulder trend (like here, and here), that being said, I can’t be more excited about the coming back of statement sleeves this season when thinking of all the possibilities it’s bringing in to the wardrobe – starting with this peasant top with puff sleeves (just marked down from $24.99 to $14.99, here) from H&M Spring Fashion collection (launching in stores and online from March 22nd).
This off white top is a super simple and versatile piece with a light and airy texture. Whether buttoning it all the way to dress it in a more formal manner, or keeping it casual and effortless like what I did in this outfit, it almost goes with any bottom you can think of. Here I paired with the straight leg pants in dark olive (also from H&M), which accidentally matched the St. Patrick’s Day theme. These pants are made in a material on the thicker side, structural enough to elevate the look, but at the same time surprisingly comfy with the high-waist detail. Needless to say, to me an outfit is never complete without a pop of color, and that’s why for accessories I picked the red pumps and my beloved color-block puzzle bag to finish off this whole ensemble.
Although spring is almost here, we all know how unpredictable the weather can get during this tricky period of time of the year. It’s always a great idea to bring one more layer just in case. In this look I went with a trench coat from a few seasons back but no way out of style, which is also in the shade of olive green. The best part of the top is, though voluminous, the oversized sleeves could magically fit into the regular sleeves of the coat and you don’t have to worry much about wrinkles thanks to its lightweight fabric.
It’s a wrap. Thanks H&M for sending me these fresh new pieces to review. Hope this post could bring you some inspiration for the long-awaited spring!
