At every corner of the city, you would be surprised by something new – this is especially true for Nashvillians right now, which is also why I find myself developing a new routine of random strolling around the city during weekends. A few weeks ago, Long and I were walking past the crossing of the 4th Ave. and the Union St., when the sleek sign of Mile End Delicatessen came to our attention. After a second look, we noticed it belongs to Fairlane Hotel, which seemed quite mysterious and intriguing from the outside. The next thing I knew, we were sitting at a table by the window in Mile End, devouring our Rueben sandwich and eggs benedict. I have said this many times, but a good brunch does mean a lot to me – or let’s just say, at least it means another visit. Luckily for me, soon after our first encounter, Fairlane Hotel had us back. What’s even better this time is we had the chance to actually take in what the whole property has to offer – including its iconic penthouse suite.
I would never have guessed if wasn’t told, but the entire building that the 70s-infused boutique hotel resides in used to be a headquarter of Regions Bank. Between the mid-century furnishing, the old-school private elevator, the brass details, everything truly comes together and gives out a unique nostalgic vibe to everyone that walks into the hotel.
Our tour started from the lobby, which features not only the New York renowned Mile End deli but also a Union Teller Coffee Counter that satisfies your daily dose of caffeine with Stumptown coffee. On the way up to the penthouse, we stopped by a few guest rooms and were very much impressed by amenities like the floor-to-ceiling windows and marble “peek-a-boo” showers.
Of course, eventually what wowed us was the penthouse – I mean, we are talking about a living room (big enough to throw a party) with a hanging fireplace and your private terrace that overlooks the entire downtown Nashville, need I say more?
What’s on my radar now is the soon-to-open Ellington’s Mid Way Bar & Grill, which will be serving all-American fare and drinks on the fourth floor of Fairlane Hotel.
So, what do you think? Join me for a drink at the Fairlane?
This post was in partnership with Fairlane Hotel, but as always opinions are my own.
